Moments of Life

I was recently taking a statistics exam that required calculation of moments.

One moment, I knew the answer.

The next moment, I did not.

1 comment:

  1. A moment is a statistical measure of a characteristic of a distribution. The first moment is the mean, and the second central moment is the variance. The jth central moments are calculated by first calculating the deviation of each observation from the mean, raising that to jth power and then averaging over all observations.
